Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By uploading images to MemeStack, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not upload content.

2. Permitted Content

This platform is for self-sufficient visual content that communicates an idea, joke, or argument: filled memes, editorial cartoons, infographics, charts, multi-panel comparisons, diagrams, and screenshots that make a point. All topics are welcome. Only prohibited content (listed below) is blocked.

3. Prohibited Content

You may not upload:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — zero tolerance, reported to NCMEC and law enforcement
• Sexually explicit or pornographic content
• Gore, graphic violence, or disturbing imagery
• Content that promotes terrorism or extreme violence
• Spam, advertising, or phishing material
• Content that infringes copyright or intellectual property rights
• Malicious files disguised as images

4. Content Scanning & Moderation

All uploads are automatically scanned using AI analysis and hash-matching technology. Content that violates these rules is flagged, blocked from public view, and reviewed.

CSAM policy: Any upload identified as child sexual abuse material — whether by automated detection or manual review — is immediately blocked, preserved as evidence, and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) via the CyberTipline. Reports include the image, uploader account information, IP address, and upload timestamp. NCMEC may forward reports to law enforcement. We cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations.

We reserve the right to remove any content and suspend or ban accounts that violate these terms without notice.

5. Your Uploads

You retain ownership of content you upload. By uploading, you grant us a non-exclusive license to store, process, display, and serve the content on this platform. You may delete your uploads at any time, except where retention is required by law (e.g., content subject to a NCMEC report).

6. Privacy

We store the minimum data necessary: your Lightning public key (for authentication), uploaded images, and associated metadata. Original filenames are not stored.

IP address logging: Your IP address is recorded at upload time and retained for the sole purpose of legal compliance and abuse prevention. IP addresses associated with content reported to NCMEC are preserved as required by law. We do not use IP addresses for tracking, advertising, or any other purpose.

7. DMCA & Copyright

We respect intellectual property rights and comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe content on MemeStack infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown notice containing:

• Identification of the copyrighted work
• Identification of the infringing material and its location on MemeStack (URL or image ID)
• Your contact information (name, email, address)
• A statement of good faith belief that the use is not authorized
• A statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf
• Your physical or electronic signature

Send DMCA notices to the contact listed in Section 11. We will respond within 10 business days. Repeat infringers may have their accounts terminated.

8. Non-consensual intimate imagery and AI deepfake takedowns (TAKE IT DOWN Act)

MemeStack complies with the federal TAKE IT DOWN Act. If content depicting you (or someone you represent) was published without consent, or if it is an AI-generated deepfake depicting you in a sexual or intimate manner, you may submit a takedown notice through our public takedown form without an account. Valid notices are processed within 48 hours.

Designated contact for takedown notices: takedown@memestack.ai. Reporter information is used only to process and confirm the request — it is never published.

For copyright infringement, use the DMCA process in Section 7 (different statute, different process). For general harassment, spam, or off-topic content, use the in-app “Report” button on the image (account required).

9. No Warranty

This service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not responsible for content uploaded by users or for any loss of data.

10. Changes

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
